Description

To pay tribute to his long and rich scenic and artistic adventure, the museum of Corsica welcomed Antoine Ciosi for his last show “Ultimu Giru”.
Faithful to his commitment to transmit and enhance the island’s musical heritage, the artist passed the torch to the rising values of the new generation of Corsican artists who are on stage with him (Lea Antona, Diana Saliceti, Jean-Louis Simonpieri, Arnaud Giacomoni, Jérôme Ferrari, Fanou Torracinta, Jérôme Ciosi, Jérémy Lohier, Paco and Jean-Marie Gianelli).

Description

“E figure di a Corsica” highlights the symbols, emblems and allegories of Corsica from antiquity to the present day. It is a long-term representation of the cultural, emblematic and identity-related aspirations of Corsica. How is Corsica represented? How the Corsicans saw themselves / are seen over the centuries and were seen / are seen? Visitors can discover contemporary creations, manuscripts and armorials, Dutch atlases of the seventeenth century, armorial furniture and important collections of coins and medals. The first watercolor manuscript maps of Corsica are presented to the public for the first time.
